Below is an updated index of Barrier Monitoring Unit (BMU) publications. We have a combination of project write-ups, surveys, reports, and profiles. The BMU currently compiles articles from a variety of media, academic and institutional resources about the Barrier within our E-library. This facilitates research while organising documentation of the West Bank Barrier and its effects on Palestinians.

Environmental impact monitoring

In cooperation with the Applied Research Institute Jerusalem, the BMU researched the impacts of the Barrier on the environment, Palestinian livelihoods, and the already-vulnerable Palestine refugee population.

Directly-affected communities list

Developed jointly by OCHA and UNRWA, this list is a compilation of all communities directly affected by the West Bank Barrier. Any community with land on the other side of the Barrier or located between the Barrier and the Green Line are considered "directly-affected" under our criteria.

Case studies and fact sheets

Joint surveys

The BMU completes all of its studies in co-operation with at least one other organisation in the occupied Palestinian territory. Our studies include Environmental Impact Monitoring, West Bank Identification-Holders, Community Access, Rural Refugees, and our Baseline study on loss of access to land. Find out more about our research and how we complete surveys with our partners.
