UNRWA's photo archive of about half a million still and moving images is a UNESCO “Memory of the World” archive of outstanding value.
Use of UNRWA photos
The UNRWA photo archive is located at the Public Information Office, UNRWA Headquarters in Gaza and is open to the public Sunday through Wednesday (except for official holidays) from 10am to 2pm for research purposes, by appointment only. Please call the Photo Archive (+972-8 677 7532/677 7527) to make an appointment.
Prints are available to researchers, journalists, magazines, book publishers, film and TV producers. Prints of photo images displayed on the UNRWA website may also be ordered directly from the photo archive. When requesting photo images from the website, please indicate the web page.
UNRWA photographs can be reproduced for editorial purposes only. They may not be used in advertising. All photos used must show the UNRWA photo credit line.
Cost for ordering prints
There is a nominal charge of US$7.00 per black and white print and US$3.00 per electronic scan for black and white prints and colour prints. There is a charge of US$ 50.00 for each UNRWA photo used in publications.
No payment is necessary for downloaded thumbnail images. Payments should be made for downloaded larger images only when used in publications (see "Use of UNRWA photos" above). There is no charge for photos used by other UN agencies, UN-affiliated non-governmental organisations and United Nations Associations.
